Welcome to Rosewood Student Ministries!
We have youth groups that meet for students in the 3rd to 12th grade on Sunday afternoon and evenings, and always welcome and encourage students to bring friends. We meet weekly during the school year, September to late May following a very similar vacation break schedule as the schools. During the summer we plan fun activities once or twice per month to keep in touch. Here is our group breakdown and the times we meet!
Horizons Group: 3rd to 5th grade
• Meets from 4:30 to 5:30 Sunday afternoons with a dinner that follows ending at 6:15
Ascent Group: 7th to 9th grade
• Meets for dinner starting at 5:30 on Sundays, and group meeting time is 6:15 to 7:15
Summit Group: 11th – 12th grade
• Currently a small group that meets WITH the Ascent group from 6:15 to 7:15 including a dinner starting at 5:30. When the Summit group begins to grow larger they will meet from 7:30 to 8:30 in the youth building on Sunday evening.
**6th and 10th grade are what we call “bounce” grades and students in the those grades may choose to bounce up into the grade levels above them or bounce down the grade levels below them, wherever they may feel they best fit**

The student ministry at Rosewood exists to: Empower student to Love God, Love Others, and Love Themselves
Matthew 22: 36-39 says, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
These 4 core values of student ministry help us to live our our vision:
Community: group of students and adults that create an environment with a deep sense of belonging
Connection: time with God, time with peers, time with caring adults through fun and meaningful interactions and activities
Care: developing a love for God, others, and themselves, especially focused with their own gifts/talents
Discipleship: We become more like Jesus by spending time with God, spending time with others, developing and using our gifts and talents, and learning to share our story
